This is a series of short stories, detailing the adventures of Chelsea Childling. You can start with her origin story or pick any story from the index.*** “What the fresh hell is this?” Andy grumbled as they pulled up to the beach house. Chelsea held back a sigh. Andy was a creature of the big city, and a […]
Bremerton didn’t have a haunt. With Seattle a boat ride away, hunters on the west side of the bay tended to gather at the ferry terminal to trade stories and look for work. It was open nearly twenty-four hours a day, but mostly it was cheap coffee and a place to congregate in the weird morning hours without too much attention. But to call it a haunt would be a lie in Chelsea’s mind. If she couldn’t talk to the staff about monster hunting, then the ferry terminal couldn’t be a haunt.
This is a series of short stories, detailing the adventures of Chelsea Childling. You can start with her origin story or pick any story from the index.*** The dark of night quietly faded into dull morning as Chelsea and the others pulled up to the GPS co-ordinates they’d been given. Winter’s ever-present rain had slowed to a thick […]
I cannot believe that it’s been nearly a year since I posted a story. Like when I finished a Chelsea story I went back and double checked, and yeah literally a year. Oh, uh, hi. Yeah, I’m writing again. I’m even writing Chelsea again. But, literally, this has been a hell of a year. My […]
Three weeks in and I’m still doing PT and still writing every day. Still not writing Chelsea, but I did find myself thinking of her yesterday. Hopefully, soon, I’ll get the urge to finish her stuff. For now, I just keep writing. As for my physical health, I’m still in pain, but it’s reducing. It’s […]
I’m keeping up with both my writing and my physical therapy. The first week was so bad, PT-wise. I tried my “normal” and kicked my own ass. As this is supposed to be gentle, I scaled back for week two. Still got in most of my reps, but let myself fall short. It’s been over […]
The 9 to 5 reopened for the tourist season, and I’m back at work. I’m also doing the work. Since my back gave out, writing has been difficult. Constant pain makes it hard to think. Pain meds don’t really help in that regard. I’ve tried finding different places and times to write, but I can […]
Well, kind of. Which sucks because there are like four or five, maybe six more Chelsea stories. But I’m not writing. And I haven’t been. At first, I blamed the new puppy. Bruno was only 10 weeks old when he came to live with us in August, and he was a ton of work. But […]
Yesterday was tour groups, and today it’s people beating the heat. But what it means is that I seem to have no writing time at all, anywhere. This too shall pass. The heat is supposed to break this weekend, although it is fire season so who knows… Once we get this mailing done at work, […]
A road trip with two of her best friends, away from the grey ice of the city, had sounded amazing in the beginning. She loved living out of her car with her giant dog. Stopping when she was tired or wanted to explore, wandering in whatever direction she needed to go. Neither Keegan nor Andy had enjoyed the experience. All three of them had a tendency towards snark, but when the guys slid into snide on the third day, Chelsea gave in to Andy and followed the GPS.
