deadlines

Mine is coming up soon. I’ll be reading Succubus out loud tonight, listening to it via text to speech on Word, and then uploading it to Amazon. And I’m still not sleeping. Luckily school starts next week, and I can get everything straightened out… mentally. Well, I can start sleeping again anyway.

Strange night

I sat down to proofread Succubus last night and found myself writing instead.  I wrote until my eyes closed and I nearly dropped my lap top. I’m not even sure if last night’s ramblings will be something I can use later on, but writing felt way better than proofreading. I’m running out of time to […]

Four more days

August pretty much flew past me.  I’m more than ready to get the second series going. Don’t get me wrong I love Uncommon Animals, but I’m ready for new stories. Tonight or tomorrow, I’ll have Succubus ready for publishing, and then boom baby! The publishing train gets going again.

Saturday Scenes

An excerpt from my short story, The Hunt at the Haunt. Free right on Amazon! Sonja curled her hands into fists when the locks on the thick metal door finally slid into the wall. The door scraped on the across the concrete. “Hello?” “Hey Sonja, it’s George. Dunno what happened, but the door’s stuck. Damn […]

Deadlines whooshing past

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. –Douglas Adams Okay, I haven’t actually missed a deadline, but last night I sat down to proofread Succubus and ended up reading a draft of Hedge Doctor, my YA series that I’m not publishing for months and months. Why the procrastination? […]

So I got a review yesterday

And some of you are thinking, “What’s the big deal about a review? Aren’t you supposed to get them?” And you’re right, but I haven’t. Well, I have. Some of my friends and family have been very kind and left reviews. This is a stranger. Someone who doesn’t know my characters, or world, or who […]

Word Tics

Every writer has them. Words and phrases you use over and over. And as soon as you catch one and destroy it another one pops up. Yes, I spent last night writing sentences to get rid of one of my word tics. But Succubus is better for it and much closer to being ready for […]

Sell one book at a time

Been working on Monsters, both editing and setting up the preorders. I’m hoping that readers being able to see when the stories will be publishing, in addition to having one completed series finished will help with sales. We’ll see how it goes. A friend recently said that self-publishing feeling like selling one book at a […]

New week, new worries

My husband is out of town for next few days. So I am or may not get more writing done. On the one hand, it’s just me and the kids. On the other hand, they have to start practicing going to bed early and getting up and ready to start their days (no more lounging […]
