I’m here! I’m here!

I’m also writing like I haven’t in years. The story I started last week is 4k words and still going. I’m hoping to finish it tonight.

And I mean it literally. I haven’t felt a story like this in a long, long time. I know this story. It’s tucked in my brain, and I just need to find the keys to the doors. So far the keys have been snippets of conversations and bits of scenes that come to me in flashes. I’m reaching for those and the story in unfurling around them.

I don’t always write stories like this. Some I plot out, some I want to parody a specific idea or trope, and some I just want write a specific monster or fight.

I have only had this kind of madness a few times, and I tend to really love the stories that come out of it.

Anyway, I have no idea where this going, or what I’m doing with this story afterwards. But I just took a break and got the next flash of a scene I need to reach. I’ll let y’all know how it turns out tomorrow.
