Walked into work again, wrote most of another Chelsea story. I could have finished it, but it felt disjointed; which is an accomplishment with only 800 words. I think I can fix it though. It’s a rare one that’s mostly built on previous stories. I just have to accept that and link people to all the references.
But maybe I have to walk to work once a week and keep this up. I do have to walk in next week as well. I might get myself to November this month if I can keep this up.
I have not, however, looked at the most recent Lost Story. It’s not coming together, so I set it aside for now. I don’t have a publishing date for this, so I don’t have to finish it any time soon. I obviously need to rethink it. I know what I want to do, but I can’t seem to find the right words to do it.
Writing at home is all but ceased at the moment. The puppy is very young. We’re still potty training. And when that isn’t a concern, there’s cuddling, playing, and general behavioral training to be done.
He still loves a cuddle, but the touch-starved puppy has been very, very well loved the last two weeks. He doesn’t live in my lap like he did a week ago, and that’s great for him. However, I’m chasing after a toddler again, and I’m well aware how that disrupts the creative process. On the other hand, that’s when I did my best writing too. Once he settles in a little more, I’ll likely have more mental space at home too.
