And we’re on the other side

Yes, my hell week is over. 85% of the art show has been completed, and yes, I am very tired. Well, I was. Today I’m more hungover on too much pernil and candy, but that’s the feast of the giant chocolate bunny for you.

I’m planning on some writing today for sure. It’s quiet and warm, or it will be this afternoon. The mountains are wild with temperature swings. But a week of sun has really dried things out, and my back porch is once again usable after a summer and fall of using it as a workshop. I do have yardwork to do out front, but it won’t heat up until this afternoon. Hopefully, I can relax for awhile and write. I do need to just sit.

I’m also planning my next road trip, and I love planning. Once again, it’s Oregon, and the coast, so I’ll be mostly outside for a few days, which I need. I wish I made more money as a writer, because then these would be business trips! Chelsea, especially, has a tendency to travel with me. She’s been to most of my favorite places, even if she doesn’t like them as much as me. I, for one, adore Seattle. Chelsea, much less so. On the other hand, she got my husband’s love of South Dakota. I’m more with Keegan on that one. It’s pretty, but I could never stay there. Anyway, I’ll be thinking up monsters as well as hiking and chilling on the beach with my kids and our tiny, ridiculous dog.

Anyway, today promises to be my usual day off, full of writing and household chores. And I love getting back to normal.
