I did it!

I got both Chelseas stories posted yesterday. Unfortunately, I forgot my headphones though. And while I can write without music, it’s very difficult. I mean sometimes I have to turn the music off to focus, but usually I need the background noise to get going. Hopefully, with headphone here today, I can get this story […]

Ooops

I took yesterday off work due to back pain (Stupid lack of sleep. Stupid oral surgery. Stupid fall.), but I’m back today. And thank all the gods I took yesterday off anyway. My poor dog ended up at the vet. He’s fine, just a pulled muscle, but when the super-food motivated former street dog won’t even […]

FINALLY!

I finally got some time with my editor and we did May and June’s stories! So I can get those posted this week. Meaning I’ve actually got buffer, and hopefully, I can get some more drafts in now that I’m not stressing deadlines. I haven’t finished that last Lost Story from Pittsburgh, and I have […]

Deep in it now

I redid the opening and have been adding more context to my latest story. Yes, I started editing before I finished it. Lie I said, feeling like a real writer these days. Anyway, my editor has been fighting the stomach flu all week. Hopefully, we can get together this weekend. If not, the May Chelsea […]

A real writer once more

I am ignoring deadlines. I hate the beginning of the story, which is not the one I should be writing. But I’m trying to finish it before adding more. I’m 12k in and no end in sight. I’m walking around the house, running dialogue under my breath (Yes, I act out scenes, especially dialogue.). For […]

10k and counting

My new “lost” Pittsburgh story is almost 10k, and I really feel like a writer again. Mostly because I hate the beginning, need to add in more fight scenes, and I’m completely avoiding what I actually need to be working on to meet my deadline. I’m back!

Still writing

Following the drama that was getting this blog up and running again, I forgot to mention that my middle had a birthday this weekend. So I spent most of my free time prepping for that, and then my poor husband got sick on top of it. So not a lot of writing got done this weekend […]

Seriously?!

Okay, got the blog up and running again (Don’t ask. Seriously, please just don’t). And I’m writing! Not Chelsea, but I’m 10k into this story, and I’m thinking I’ll hit 50k or better. I’ll take it. Hopefully, I get some editing in this weekend, but at the moment, I’m just happy to be writing.

So about yesterday

I had to go back to Pittsburgh (again), but it means I got some writing done. 4000+ words of it. And I remember doing this very thing years ago. When I had deadlines for Pittsburgh stories, I would often find myself writing Chelsea stories. It’s part of how I ended up with such a deep […]

And I noped

While I had the time to write at work yesterday, I just couldn’t seem to find the right mind set. So I went home and did an old exercise of rereading past stories. And I hated them. The descriptions sucked, the dialogue: all forced, and the char– That was when I shut it all down […]
