Icy Monday

Welp, school’s been cancelled. I’m writing this blog post now, because after lunch, I shall be hitching the kids to the metaphorical plow and getting some cleaning done. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me. They actually get a lot of work done. As for writing… well, I got some work done on the […]

#Saturday Scenes

Almost missed it this week. But here we go, a scene from my novella, Monsters of Pittsburgh: Humans. *** The pile on his desk had shrunk to half its size when a knock broke Matty’s concentration. A shiver raced down his spine. A gruff voice spoke through the door. “It’s me. I brought you some […]

So I failed…

Yes, I got more than 200 words written yesterday, but I didn’t finish the scene. *shrugs* I dunno. At least I’m writing. Well, I was yesterday anyway. Today not so much. But on the other hand: Maybe today I’m doing too much cleaning, but tomorrow… oh tomorrow! We’ll see how things look on Monday.

200 words

It’s my goal for today. 200 more words to finish the current Matty scene. Then I can switch it over to Mina and give her some action.  And I get a treat! Trying to keep my goals small and manageable so that I keep chugging along. While I hate feeling so behind schedule, I do […]

Dammed

For once, not a typo. But I’m still not writing. Well, I am  writing. Just not at the level of output I’m used to. A few hundred words a day, tops. Which is frustrating for me. I love pounding out words. There is no greater joy than watching that word count rise (Well, nothing regarding my kids counts […]

So I did a thing…

All the other writers are doing it, so I thought, maybe I should too! So, yes, I made a mailing list! I promise not to bombard you with stuff. I’m thinking twice a month. Once on publishing day, and again about two weeks later. That second one will be the sole home of my flash […]

Humans is live

The fifth installment of Monsters of Pittsburgh is live today! The situation is tense in the Steel City. Rick and Mina still haven’t dealt with their issues, and Matty’s stress levels are on the rise. When an assassin comes for Dean, only an old friend can save him. It’s 2.99 to buy or free with […]

#SaturdayScenes

This Monday my novella, Monsters of Pittsburgh: Humans, will be available for purchase. So here’s the opening: The bar was loud and crowded despite it being a Thursday night. Mina sat on a stool, trying not to glare at the people who jostled her. She was here with her boss, Jennelle, who knew her as […]

And then reality set in

So yesterday, I decided to do movie parody posters for the final Mina and Matty series. And I dutifully sat down with my stock photos and spent eight hours mocking up a halfway decent parody. Just to see if I could make the photoshop look good. I knew it wouldn’t be done, but could I make […]

New Years Revelation

So all my friends are posting their New Year’s Writing Resolutions. And here I am, coffee and stuffed French toast, and I realized that writing-wise, I’m in a good place. I mean, I’m always learning and trying to improve, but really I’m good. I wished I had finished the finale of the final series, still […]
