One more day

Tomorrow, the Omnibus Edition is out. I have a few tweaks to make, but it’s done and ready, and tomorrow, I’ll have a hard copy book for sale. This also means that the first series is officially done tomorrow. No more tweaks, no more worrying.  I can turn all my attention to revising and editing […]

Aiming for the stars

The Omnibus Edition is just about to hit (metaphoric) shelves, and I’m an odd mix of excited and scared… and wistful. All of this hard work the last year or so is aimed at getting an editor for my free novel, my 130k fantasy epic. Editors cost money and my book is just too big […]

Publishing Day!

Is not today! But soon! Tuesday, July 1st to be exact. And yes, I will also be offering a print edition, of which I am very nervous about. Other work-wise, I’ve had to rewrite a few scenes that last two days, but I still haven’t fixed an ending that’s bugging me.

The old copper top

No, I wasn’t going to put up a picture of that stinking rabbit. Even is that’s exactly how I feel some days. Today is one of them. I get a night out on Friday and a day at the lake on Saturday. This means a ton of prep today and tomorrow. Cleaning and packing and […]

The middle doldrums

This is something all writers know about. The middle section of your first draft will sag like mad for a while. You can’t properly write it until you have the ending written. Something similar happens is editing. The drafting process is this mad dash to get the story out, and the ending (publishing) is a […]

My brain is mine field

Or maybe a maze. Or maze IN a mine field. Anyway,  I’ve been trying to write these Jeff stories for a few weeks now, and I’ve been pulling a huge blank on them. Finally, a friend convinced me to join her cabin for Camp Nanowrimo in July. This is basically, a Nanowrimo, but you can […]

Inspiration

It comes from the oddest places. The last two posts have been about storytelling and characters, and were directly inspired by  a series of conversations I’ve been having bout whether or not stories and characters were explicitly gendered. Now, of course, someone always tries to being up pregnancy as something that is gendered. My answer […]

Storytelling Part 2

My husband and I are still arguing about this. It all started out as argument that there should be more women in stories with their own agency. And now my husband and I are arguing structure vs details He believes that the finer details change a story so much as to make every story different. […]

Storytelling

I’ve never been sure if I’m writer. Me and grammar are not the best of friends. I have a tendency to think it’s getting in my way. I’ve always considered myself to be a storyteller. I’m currently using words a medium, but I use it in addition to the other mediums of storytelling I have […]

Got it done

The formatting for the omnibus edition is done. Now, granted,  I still have to fill out a lot of forms for createspace.com, but the formatting of the text and cover is done. And everything is uploaded to Amazon as well. Today is a cleaning day, because we took the beginning of this week off, as […]
