Upcoming

Doing better, but the winter continues to trickle in. Therefore, I keep having minor setbacks.Yes, I can walk the two miles into work, but I will sleep for 10 to 12 hours minimum that night. And should I try to do it twice in one week… forget about having any energy whatsoever for a few […]

Overworked

I had a busy weekend at work. I learned how to rewire some old-fashioned light fixtures so that they will work with modern bulbs. No, that is not something everyone who works at a museum has to know. However, between my mother the machinist and my theater days, I’ve been graced with a love a […]

Keegan’s Story

Keegan rubbed his long, thin fingers together as he blew on them. His knees bumped against the only other piece of furniture that fit in the bunk, the bed her giant mutt of a dog was currently hogging.
The tiny, windowless shack she rented was warm and dry, and definitely made for a single person to stay in. Chelsea wasn’t sure she could get around Keegan to the bathroom.
He flipped his dark hair out of his eyes. “I hate this weather.”
Chelsea pulled the covers tighter around her and Bentley. “I didn’t call you.”

Oh, boy

So, um, Saturday was March 1st, and like, I totally knew that, but somehow, I forgot that… and scheduled the story for next Saturday. And didn’t realize until late Saturday night, and then I realized I had posted the unedited version, and then I realized I hadn’t saved the edited version, and um… yeah, so […]

Finally, we are thawing

Yes, there is still a ton of snow in my desert. We got about 4 feet over all. But, roads are clear, some sidewalks are clear and it’s supposed to be 40 degrees and sunny for a few days. If I can stay sane for another week, I will be free of my confinement. Despite […]

Still snow covered

While it is starting to melt, starting to melt still means I’m house bound. Which is killing me. I’m not meant to be stuck in the house, but I also cannot risk falling. I did try to walk yesterday, but almost fell three times. So I’m depressed. Lots of sleeping. Lots of weeping. Hopefully, in […]

Suffocation by Snow

I love where I live. I love the dry heat and mountains. I love the pine forests and the lakes. I love 300 days of sunshine. But once a winter we get a storm that literally lasts days, and dumps more than a foot of snow on us. We have tunnels in our backyard for […]

I’ll talk. You listen, Chelsea Childling

This is a series of short stories, detailing the adventures of Chelsea Childling. You can start with her origin story or pick any story from the index. *** Whiskey burned, but not enough. Chelsea could still taste ocean salt and Jackson’s last kiss. She signaled for another drink. “Aren’t you hunting tonight?” Worry shaded Morgan’s voice. “Nope.” Chelsea […]

Winter Hiatus

I’m so lazy. My paying job is on winter hiatus, so I get to stay home, and damn… I’m enjoying vacation. I’m enjoying sleeping in and watching tv. I’m trying to do crafty creative stuff now, but it’s cold out, so I don’t want to move and pretty much, I don’t have to. And I […]
