In the words of my old FFXI linkshell, “IRL happened.” Ashely and I both have some craziness that couldn’t be handled at any other time. So our planned two week hiatus… now, an unplanned three week hiatus. We do have some more cool filler art, though. Anyway, writing is writing. I did my edits to my anthology short, […]
Been running my butt off all week, doctor’s appointments, back to school night, play practice… etc. Finally things are getting a little less hectic. One beta reader got back to me. She’s a fan of the longer ending. Still waiting on the others. Which is hard. Luckily, I have some critiques and editing on a […]
So I made my final cuts to Last Call: Finale yesterday. Nothing major, just a few things. And then I called out the betas. Both people who are familiar and unfamiliar with my work, as well as people who have read the story, and a few who haven’t. Now, I’m at the hardest part of […]
It’s an essential writer’s tool, though one I don’t use as often as most. In the great plotter (people who plan out their stories) vs pantser (People who just make their stories up as they go), I’m a plantser. Studying plots and storytelling means that I tend to think in more general terms when drafting. […]
***WARNING: This blog post contains links to TVtropes.org. Click at your risk.*** So I made through my cycle of editing last week, and I’ve got a new concern: The end. While I’m not a fan of tying everything up neatly with a ribbon, it feels too long to me. Like Return of the King too […]

It’s very easy to slip from drama into melodrama. Humor helps to combat this. So today’s adventures in editing to go through […]
So on Twitter, there’s numerous games. One of them is One Line Wednesday (#1lineWed). And I had a brain storm. What if I gave away a free book, and tweeted lines from it? Brilliant right? Well, apparently not so much. See a specific writing group came up with the game and they have RULES. I […]
Awhile back, I discovered the idea of #1LineWed. It’s a twitter game. And when I could remember, I’d pop on to Twitter on Wednesday, and give my best one-liner. Well, last week, I had a new book out, and I might have used the game as shameless self-promotion. And then I thought, I could do […]
Blurbs are the bane of my existence. Well, that and spiders… and heights… and cars… okay, I have some issues. A friend told me that if I write a blurb, she’d post my blog in her ‘Recommended Reading’ section. Which is great! I totally need the exposure. I still have to write a blurb. Blurbs […]
