Still not up to my usual daily word count, but I made progress on that parody. Unfortunately, I had a massive time slip due to my being depressed. It just occurred to me this morning that I publish in four days and I don’t have a blurb for the next story. I’ll get it done […]
So I had everything ready for my daughter’s birthday yesterday but slept until well after seven today. Oh well. I also got some writing done and some critiquing. The parody goes slowly. Mostly because my Sam and Dean are nothing like Supernatural Sam and Dean. But I more or less have a direction to in, […]
I still have that drag ass, don’t wanna do anything, feeling of ennui. I’m sore, mostly between my shoulder blades. It’s where I carry my tension. And I’m forcing myself to move beyond it. It’s a struggle I am very familiar with. I want to sleep. I can drink twice my normal amount of coffee […]
Another day went by without me getting any worthwhile writing done. Or proofreading the upcoming story. Today I had to drag myself out of bed and barely got the kids to school on time, let alone in time for second breakfast. As I trudged back to my house, I had to concede that I’m depressed. […]
Sat down last night to proofread and nope… I also didn’t get any writing done. Instead I played Civilization V and passed out early. Part of this, I know, is seasonal allergies. The vast majority of it though is me forcing myself to get up at 5:30. Why? Because I’m more productive if I have 30 […]
Back in the publishing train. I have ten days to polish up the latest Uncommon Animals story, The Hunt at the Haunt. Although, truth be told, I’m not particularly stressed about it. I need to do the usual frantic and inevitable proofreading, but it’s been done for quite some time. Far more fun to contemplate […]
Since tomorrow is a holiday and I’ll be getting three sugared up kids ready to go to grandma’s, I thought I’d write this to the sounds of my youngest son singing Let It Go. Spent last night rereading the finale of Uncommon Animals, Hunter’s Moon. I think I can see what to do to fix […]
So it’s two weeks until publishing day. My cover is done. My story is done. I will ask friends about grammar checks and do at least one myself, but The Hunt at the Haunt is ready. The finale… I’m not so sure of the finale. I feel like it drags in the middle. I need […]
For me, the hardest part of self-publishing is where I have to push my own stuff. Shout outs to my fellow authors, no problem. Chronicling my struggles and triumphs with the writing process, easy as pie. Talking up my own work and urging people to buy it? Heaven forbid. It’s something I’m working on. Anyway, I have […]
I’m trying to anyway. It’s really cold this morning and just getting out of bed took so much energy. I’m pounding coffee though, and making outlines. Yes, I am actually making an outline, and doing research. This short is a parody of popular TV show. I need to get it right. While I like Supernatural […]
